It has been many years since Laitwood Road was last resurfaced. The road is no longer fit for purpose. Each week, Balham residents are forced to make complaints to Wandsworth Council about potholes, uneven surfaces and, during wet weather, puddles on the road surface. Uneven road surfaces can be harmful to both motorists and pedestrians - particularly those pushing prams or those with reduced mobility such as the elderly. Repairing worn out road surfaces and repairing potholes makes travel in all its forms safer for residents across the board, whether they are walking, cycling or driving.
As residents of Laitwood Road, we call upon Wandsworth Council to add the road to its priority list for resurfacing at the earliest possible opportunity.
