Cllr Aled Richards-Jones
Aled has served as a Northcote councillor since 2018. He has lived locally for nearly 10 years and loves our part of Wandsworth. He is a Governor of Ark Bolingbroke Academy, a member of the Friends of Wandsworth Common (and avid litter-picker), and an advisor to the Clapham Junction Business Improvement District which supports our local businesses in Northcote and Clapham Junction.
During the covid pandemic, Aled held the Council’s portfolio with responsibility for businesses and the local economy in Wandsworth, and oversaw payments of business grants to local businesses affected by covid and led the successful implementation of the Northcote Road summer pedestrianisation scheme.
Beyond the Council, Aled works in central London as a barrister specialising in commercial and intellectual property law.
Cllr Emmeline Owens
Emmeline has lived locally for almost 20 years and is a passionate champion of Northcote. She spent over ten years as a governor and chair of a Wandsworth ‘Outstanding’ school. Both of her children go to school in the Northcote ward - Belleville and Bolingbroke - and play for Broomwood Football Club, Fit 4 Kidz Football, Wandsworth’s Spencer Cricket and a local SW London rugby club. Emmeline’s family low waste and little packaging food business supplies 500 shops across the country - including locally - and she has previously written reports on a range of economic and general commercial challenges.
Emmeline is a business consultant and following her post graduate degree in economics and initial career in the EU, she spent seven years in industry and ten years working for financial services institutions, most recently for start-ups in financial technology.
