Instead of just talking about how to build homes, Wandsworth Conservatives are getting on with the task in hand – delivering affordable homes for all Wandsworth residents.
Between October 2016 and October 2017, Conservative run Wandsworth Council produced the fifth highest number of affordable homes across the 32 London Boroughs.
This is in massive contrast to our immediate neighbours. Labour run Merton saw the delivery of just nine affordable houses in the same period – this is the second lowest in the capital.
Our other Labour run neighbours Lambeth and Croydon, delivered significantly lower than Conservative Wandsworth respectively overseeing 80 and 186 affordable homes being built.
We have pledged in our manifesto to build 1,000 new council homes over the next five years. All of these will be made available as a priority to Wandsworth residents and importantly 60% of these homes will be available to residents on average or below average incomes.
Wandsworth Conservatives are committed to building 2,000 more affordable homes by 2030 and we have promised to invest £185m on social housing over the next four years. We shall also appoint a New Homes Champion to identify sites and deliver new affordable homes for local residents.
Wandsworth is a great place to live and that’s why we are committed to ensuring homes are built for Wandsworth residents who care as passionately about the Borough as we do.
Wandsworth Conservatives continue to get on with the task in hand and deliver for our residents.
