As many residents prepare for the Easter weekend and Passover, the Leader of Wandsworth Council has confirmed his commitment to ensuring that the Brighter Borough remains as diverse and inclusive as ever.
Ahead of the long weekend, Councillor Ravi Govindia commented:
“Since I moved to Wandsworth in the 1970s, I have always been proud of the number of many different communities that help make this such a special place to live.
Over recent weeks, I have been troubled by an undercurrent of unpleasantness that has permeated elements of political discourse.
As Leader of the Council, I refuse to let this nastiness take hold in our Borough and instead I have made a commitment to show zero tolerance to any form of prejudice.
‘As such, every Wandsworth Conservative candidate is committed to ensure that race is not used as a political football in the upcoming election’
Wandsworth is at its best when we work together as a united community to unlock the potential of every resident regardless of background.”
