Dan Watkins recieved the support of over 22,000 local residents, winning 41% of the vote. Sadly, this was not quite enough to win the seat. Dan continues to campaign locally on behalf of residents.
Dan grew up near Kingston and has lived in the Tooting constituency for over 13 years. In 2006 Dan started a business in Earlsfield and through its growth has created dozens of jobs.
Locally, Dan is a Governor at Oak Lodge School for the Deaf in Nightingale ward, as well as a volunteer at the CDG charity in Wandsworth, mentoring the long-term unemployed back into work. As part of his commitment to the community, Dan is also the founder of the Tooting Voluntary Force, where local volunteers regularly give their time to support local charities and environmental projects.
Dan's wife Tamara is a social worker, and they both love the diversity and energy that make Tooting a special place to live. Dan recognises that the shops, restaurants and community pubs are a key part of its success, and that these businesses need support if they are to continue to prosper.
Dan is a keen cyclist and often to be found on his bike on the roads of Tooting!
