Air Marshal (Retd) Phil Osborn CBE FRAeS
After nearly four decades in UK Defence, Air Marshal Phil Osborn (Retd) combines broad private and third sector expertise, with deep experience of Defence and national security. Most recently in his military career, he was Chief of Defence Intelligence until the end of 2018, and as such was at the heart of national security decision making (including as Chair of the Joint Intelligence Committee), strategic intelligence provision, and digital and cyber capabilities. Previously, he served as an operational fast jet navigator, he commanded one of the two operational RAF Groups, and led many of the UKs capability programmes, including Combat Air, Information and Digital, and Special Forces. Today, within a portfolio of Board-level, senior advisory and charity roles, including as a Director with Universal Defence and Security Solutions, his focus remains the pragmatic but urgent transformation of Defence and Security, and he is a frequent commentator on geo-politics, and national security.
